Roadmap to Medicare

Learn more about planning your drive to 65

Tailored solutions to your health, lifestyle, and budget

For most of us, Medicare becomes available at age 65 and needs to be considered as part of our healthcare plan. Even if you or your spouse continues to work beyond 65, you should know the cost and offerings available through Medicare, as it may represent a better option than what your employer offers.

When to consider Medicare

  • You're approaching age 65, even if you continue to work past age 65
  • Your spouse is turning 65, but you're not
  • You're at least 65 and retiring
  • You're eligible for disability Medicare
  • You're already enrolled in Medicare plans

Three months prior to retirement or turning age 65, you should start the review process to ensure you have the right coverage in place. If your spouse is age 65+ and on your employer-sponsored coverage, it may be more cost-effective to switch him/her to Medicare while adjusting your individual coverage.

Medicare can be supplemented or even replaced with coverage from well-known insurance carriers to best fit your needs. Explore the various plans using the links below.
